That's a really interesting question! Personally, I think that people often forget where they hear such lines. You may hear a line, or saying so many times and you arent' sure where it comes from and no one you know can give you a reference to the origin of the saying. So you attribute it to common knowledge. I think that perhaps M.C. may have thought the line was inventive and original but and took credit for it, when it really came from Shakespeare. He did create a lot of new phrases and words that we use today :). Anyway, it's a good guess at least.
I also would bet that Nikki Sixx didn't specifically get the line "looks that kill" from Shakespeare. Although that is a very interesting thing to think about. Nikki is pretty into old classy things (from what I have seen on LA Ink)so I suppose on the some heroin trip that he couldve wrote that song, he could have specifically worked it in from Shakespeare.
But like what Kaleigh said, It is amazing how many quotes are in our every day language that we dont know who to attribute to.
In fact, Lie low, Good riddance, Night owl, As dead as a doornail, A charmed life, and Send him packing all were orginally found in Shakespearean plays!
It is really amazing how many things in our own language we own to Shakespeare!
Great question! Thank you!

Well I am not an English major nor am I a well-read Shakespearean, but I do find your point very interesting. I like the way you tie in music and literature in such a cute, attractive wave. We should get together some time and discuss more about this "looks that kill" line because after watching your pretty face in that video clip, I feel like I'm dying ;)
